The GSMA announced the winners of the coveted Global Mobile Awards at the 2010 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona — and the HTC Hero was selected as the 'Best Mobile Handset' of 2009. Read more »

Boxee breathes new life into my AppleTV

I recently hacked my AppleTV to run Boxee, and it's amazing. I actually have new content on it for the first time in ages. My biggest complaint on AppleTV had been the lack of fresh content, and the lack of DRM free content. Everytime I fired up the AppleTV it only had movies I'd seen, or it was advertising movies that were only available to buy and weren't yet released for rental. Lame.

Since installing the Boxee hack, it's opened up the entire world of content normally only available on your computer. Anyway, I'm pretty impressed so far and look forward to new content channels coming online. I only wish you could access your NetFlix account on AppleTV, like you can on the Boxee desktop client. Maybe I'll have to kick down for a Roku player and ditch the AppleTV.

Or if you already have an account and an AppleTV, here are the instructions I followed.

My first attempt at long exposure 'star trails' night photography. Just working out the details of the timelapse stacking method and playing with the 5Dmk2 low light capabilities. (Which are amazing by the way).

Next up...find some more cool locations to try this some more. (and buy a warm scarf...it's really COLD at night these days :)

HTC Hero announced

The product I've been working on has finally been publicly announced — introducing HTC Hero.

Mograph update — New product launch videos

Finally had a chance to upload some new work: HTC 2008 product launch videos. These are actually a bit old now, but I've just been too busy creating new products to keep the portfolio up-to-date...stay tuned pending announcments ;)

There have been alot of changes in online media — and it's been fun to get up to speed with all the latest web technology.

This Squarespace engine is spectacular, and I'm amazed at what I've been able to put together in such a short time. I will be doing a more in-depth review of this service in the future.

Anyway, just a few more details to iron out, and I'm ready to unplug my old Flash-based site on Mediatemple and go 100% Square :)

Product Review test post

This is a review test post to show where future product and gear reviews will go.

Tutorial test post

This is a test post to show where future tutorial posts will go.
