My first attempt at long exposure 'star trails' night photography. Just working out the details of the timelapse stacking method and playing with the 5Dmk2 low light capabilities. (Which are amazing by the way).

Next up...find some more cool locations to try this some more. (and buy a warm scarf...it's really COLD at night these days :)

An experimental moonlit night panorama, taken while waiting for 'star trails' timelapse to finish.

Below is a test to see how well the frames can stitch together to create timelapse animations:

It think it work OK, but it might be better with a 2-camera setup. One with exposure and interval time for catching 'star trails', and another with a faster exposure/interval time for capturing animation frames for timelapse footage.

Anytime timelapse gurus out there, please feel free to comment with tips or suggestions.
